Taco Hidde Bakker

Taco Hidde Bakker ist ein Autor, Übersetzer, Lehrer und Kurator im Bereich Fotografie. Er studierte an zwei Kunstschulen und hat danach den Master in Fotografie an der Leiden Universität. Er veröffentlichte Texte in zahlreichen Künstlerbüchern, Katalogen und Magazinen, darunter Camera Austria International, Foam Magazine, The PhotoBook Review, British Journal of Photography, and TRIGGER. Bakker ist Autor von The Photograph That Took the Place of a Mountain (Fw:Books, 2018), eine Sammlung von Essays und anderen Texten über Fotograf:innen und andere Künstler:innen. Er unterrichtet Theorie an der Utrecht Universität der Kunst (HKU) und ist Mitglied des Forschungs- und Kuratierungskollektives Radical Reversibilty. 2021 kuratierte er die Ausstellung Stephan Keppel, Hard Copies in der Camera Austria.

Taco Hidde Bakker is a writer, translator, teacher and curator in the field of the arts, specializing in photography. He studied at two art schools and obtained an MA in Photographic Studies at Leiden University. He has contributed writing to numerous artist’s books, catalogs and magazines, among them Camera Austria International, Foam Magazine, The PhotoBook Review, British Journal of Photography, and TRIGGER. Bakker is the author of The Photograph That Took the Place of a Mountain (Fw:Books, 2018), a collection of essays and other writings on photographers and artists. He teaches Theory at the Utrecht University of the Arts (HKU) and is a member of the research and curatorial collective Radical Reversibility. In 2021 Bakker curated the exhibition Stephan Keppel, Hard Copies at Camera Austria.
