Kulturvermittlung Steiermark – About Us

With public funding, we support projects by artists, cultural practitioners, children, and young people, as well as institutions in the fields of photography, visual arts, literature, human rights, and youth work. Our guiding principles are:

– Grassroots cultural work
– Fostering the younger generation
– Promoting human rights
– Identifying gaps in the local/regional cultural scene and taking active steps to address them
– Scholarship programs, exhibitions, and other cultural events whose aim is to contribute to shaping the profile of our cultural location

In the field of photography, we document the work of the traditionally large local photography scene and promote it through various activities to enhance societal awareness and appreciation of the photographic craft.

Additionally, we offer consultation and technical assistance for implementing art and cultural projects, providing informal infrastructural support outside the official funding systems.

As networkers, we are active on regional, national, and international levels, bringing together actors in the Styrian cultural scene for local and global collaboration. The absence of dedicated presentation spaces presents a continual challenge but fosters constructive and ongoing cooperation with local and regional partner organizations.
