Margo Sarkisova is a young Assyrian artist of Ukrainian descent. Currently she lives and works in Lviv, Ukraine. In February 2022 because of full scale war with Russia, was refugee for the second time from Kharkiv, Ukraine, where she worked in her studio. For the first time Margo refugee In 2014 from Donetsk, Ukraine.
Margo graduate with honors from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts in the studio of I. Yakhin. She was finalist of the competition of modern fine arts named after Nathan Altman 2017, 2018, participant of the festival of printed graphics PRINTFEST_100 in Kyiv; was selected for a group international exhibition at the International Print Center New York (USA) in January 2020. One of the many participants who supported the project “Falling Shadow of Dreams” on the Gardens of Giardini “Ukrainian pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale”;
Margo participated in projects and exhibitions in Germany, USA, Bulgaria, Italy.
Her artworks are in private collections in Denmark, Ukraine, USA, Australia, Norway, France, Canada, Italy, United Kingdom, India, Germany, Scotland, Czech Republic, Austria;
In her work, Margo explores the theme of national identity, concept oh “home” and how the cultural context influences on thoughts and life of a person.
