Julia Rüegger studied literary writing, theater and philosophy in Hildesheim, Biel/Bern and Madrid. She writes poetry, essays and prose and researches the interface between theory and artistic practice. Her poetry debut einsamkeit ist eine ortsbezeichnung (loneliness is a designation of place), with which she was invited to the Solothurn Literature Days, among others, was published by Schiler & Mücke in 2023. Rüegger received a work grant from the Canton of Basel-Stadt and a scholarship at the Literary Colloquium Berlin to work on her second volume of poetry. Her second book, Und überlaut die Zikaden (And overloud the cicadas), written together with Valerie-Katharina Meyer, was published by edition mosaik in February 2025.
