Iuliia Stakhivska
Poet, children’s book author and illustrator

Iuliia Stakhivska attended the State Art School in Zhytomyr and studied at the Mohyla Academy in Kyiv.
The author has published several volumes of poetry, written children’s books, illustrated posters and book covers and published two children’s books of her own in 2020: Місяць над Кінбурном (Moon over Kinburn) and Таємниця Могилянки і зниклий ключя (The Secret of Mohyla Academy and the Lost Key). The latter was longlisted for the BBC News Ukraine Book of the Year 2021.
Stakhivska is co-editor of the anthologies Ukrainian Avant-garde Poetry: 1910-1930 (2014) and Ukrainian Poetic Avantgarde (2018) for the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She worked in Kyiv at the Czech Center and the Polish Institute. In 2022 Julia Stachiwska wrote a series of articles about her home in Butscha (for “Deutsche Welle”, among others).
