Christian Kasners

Christian Kasners, born and raised in the Ruhr region (Germany), studied photography at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen (Germany) from 2009 to 2017, from 2014 to 2015 at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester (NY, US), and from 2019 to 2022 as a master student at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig (DE). In 2017, he received one of the documentary photography sponsorship awards from the Wüstenrot Foundation.

His work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions in Germany, the US, Czechia, and China. Individual works are in the collections of the Museum Folkwang in Essen and the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, NY. He has also self-published several artist books. During his studies, he was a scholarship holder of the Cusanuswerk.

He lives and works in Leipzig.
